Jack Levin
CEO
Jack Levin is the founder of ImageShack Corp. Jack got his Computer Science degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia after moving there from St. Louis, Missouri. Before starting ImageShack, he was one of the first network engineers at Google. He learned great things from his former employer Google, which inspired him to get serious about his wish to create a successful company of his own, that soon became a leader in the photo-sharing world. If he isn’t working or spending his time with his family, you will find him eating at Shish Kabobs across the street or flying his RC helicopters….even in the office. When he is on vacation he enjoys hobbies, such as, organizing the geno sequences of DNA to find predisposed genetic illnesses by using Hadoop or inventing new math problems. He loves traveling all over with his two daughters and wife.
Alex Volkov
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Alex claims to be the better half of the company since he has been here the longest. Don’t let his hard core Russian accent trick you. When he isn’t talking to himself he likes to imitate George Bush by saying “Imma American.” How he got citizenship is what baffles most of the company and despite Imageshack’s best efforts to get him sent back he continues to make the effort of leading the company and telling people what to do on a daily basis. He is usually very reasonable, but don’t bring up politics or religion unless you want to start an all out war…you’ve been warned..
Nicholas Pettas
SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Nicholas grew up with interests in science and technology. He came to find those interests sparked a curiosity with computers. At the age of nine he began his programming adventures with an old PC. By age twelve his passion for computing propelled him into the web and building fan websites for his favorite TV shows. He’s now pursuing a CS degree while working as a self taught software developer.
In his life, away from computers, Nicholas has been known to be a goofy and caring individual. He constantly consumes information and absorbs knowledge from all around him. He enjoys debating politics, working on computer related hobbies, and snowboarding in Tahoe.
Deborah Black
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Deborah likes to talk a lot, it is one of her many gifts in addition to business development. She loves organization and planning ImageShack’s direction in sales, HR and operations….and is fighting taking the OCD test. Despite the best efforts of the engineers she will never think like them nor will she play video games. If you don’t see her in the office she will most likely be traveling the world, or working out so she can finally beat half the office in pull-ups.
Edwin Douglas
OPERATIONS ENGINEER
Edwin comes from a long line of railroad men. His namesake retired as an electrician for the Illinois Central Railroad. An early exposure to model railroading and electronics eventually led to an interest in computers. In his free time Edwin enjoys riding trains, shopping for clothes and urban exploration.
Moe Hosseini
LEAD UI DEVELOPER
Moe’s passion for programming began by blindly copying code from magazines and recording them onto cassette tapes using his Commodore 64. The week his Dad bought their first computer (a 133MHz Intel Pentium) he managed to wipe the operating system and swore he had nothing to do with it. At some point he thought he would become a game programmer but the discovery of Microsoft FrontPage and GeoCities set his journey to becoming a Web Developer and finding his true passion in UI development. In his free time he enjoys working out, watching Breaking Bad, and going on walks with his wife and their most amazing dog, Wesley. Also, Deborah won’t be beating him in pull-ups anytime soon.
Mikhail Smirnov
WEB DEVELOPER
Mikhail is currently attending San Jose State University as a CS major. He works on a variety of projects that involve both ImageShack and yFrog. Mikhail is a huge hockey fan. It does not take much to notice the decline in his work performance during the NHL playoffs. He also is an exceptional C programmer and a self-proclaimed office champ in ping pong.
Tyler Van Hoomissen
WEB DEVELOPER
Tyler loves writing beautiful code to create simple software with elegant user interfaces. Being that he is a gluten-free, polyglot hacker, he enjoys smelling your delicious cinnamon-raisin bread instead of eating it. When he’s not being a Ruby fanboy, you can find him geeking out at the Ping Pong table. His life will be complete when he acquires a Monome.
Lucy Finegan
ACCOUNT MANAGER
Lucy is an advertising veteran and has worked at various radio stations, ad agencies and websites for the past 20 years. When she’s not managing accounts she spends most of her free time planning her next event. Whether it’s family, friends or twenty, eight-year-old girls screaming in her backyard, she’s always got something planned. To book your next event you can find her on yFrog Social.
Serge Tonkovidoff
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Serge usually could be found in the farthest and darkest corner of the office where he is trying to find another part of his duties that he could avoid doing by shamelessly shifting it to company computers. The free time that this nefarious activity creates is wasted by reading science fiction and visiting boring places like SLAC, LLNL and NASA ARC. His dream is to bike from Campbell to the San Francisco Bay and manage to get back in one day.
Nagesh Rao
PRINCIPAL BACKEND ARCHITECT
Nagesh has a proven track record in designing and building enterprises and social applications from the ground up. He loves open source software frameworks and is passionate about solving complex problems around big data. Previously he held positions at prestigious firms like C-DAC(INDIA), HP and many startup companies.
He has worked in diverse industries including Telecom, Networking, R&D, Supply chain management, CRM and ERP solutions. His expertise is in leading projects with short development cycles and limited resources and managing outsourced teams.
In his spare time he likes biking, nature hiking and occasionally playing cricket. His hobbies include carpentry, photography and architecture.
Josiah Spartz
FRONT END ENGINEER
Josiah graduated from UC Davis at age 20, and comes from a background in financial analysis and creative management. When he’s not coding or tweaking product details, he enjoys reading, redditing, playing violin and piano, practicing mixed martial arts, and NOT getting ambushed by his cat Sir Leon the Professional.
Oleg Tsvinev
PRINCIPAL ENGINEER
Seasoned software developer and architect, Oleg acquired his skills and expertise working for small and big companies alike spanning from Internet startups to federal government agencies, leading small teams to big successes. Before turning to programming Oleg was busy building computers for a hobby and being a hardware designer.
Oleg’s unique expertise combines knowledge of modern internet technologies with mastery of operating systems and networking. Oleg is a contributor to a number of open source projects.
Oleg holds MSEE with major in Robotics from a university age of Stanford, only on the other side of the planet. In his free time Oleg enjoys riding a mountain bike and scuba diving.
Lawrie Talansky
LEAD UI AND VISUAL DESIGNER
A Florida native and Ringling College of Art and Design graduate, Lawrie is a designer who strives for perfection and innovation in all that she does. After 8 years in advertising as an award winning Art Director she decided to take the plunge into the world of UI design and joined the Yfrog team.
Don’t let her 4 inch heels fool you. She will watch Star Wars over a chick flick any day, is always up for a good beer and even trained hard enough to complete a half Iron Man in 98 degree heat. By the way, Lawrie is dying for a Dribble invite, so feel free to send her one!
